Lewis founded Barlow Construction Ltd and leads the business as Director. He has more than twenty years in the construction industry, and he started out on the tools.
He built the company on hands on knowledge of the work and a straightforward approach with clients. Today he leads the team across North Yorkshire on everything from extensions and renovations to period property restoration and complete design and build projects.

Vanessa oversees the day to day administration of the business, manages our accounts and finances, ensures suppliers and subcontractors are paid, and keeps the paperwork firmly under control.
While the team are busy delivering projects on site, Vanessa makes sure the business behind them remains organised, efficient and financially on track.
As both a partner in the business and an integral part of the management team, Vanessa has played an important role in the continued growth and success of Barlow Construction Ltd.

Operations Manager
Tony brings experience, practical knowledge and organisation to his role as Operations Manager. With a strong multi trade skillset, he understands construction from both the practical side and the management side.
His main role is the smooth running of our projects, and he also works on site when a job needs his skills.
Tony is the link between our clients, trades, suppliers and site teams. He coordinates labour and materials and keeps a close eye on progress, quality and the programme, so every job stays organised and runs efficiently.

Junior DirectorRoman Barlow
Future Managing Director 😎
At just 7 years old, Roman is already proudly known as the heir to the Barlow Construction empire.
With a genuine love for construction, diggers, tools and everything building related, Roman enjoys getting involved with the team whenever he gets the chance. He's currently working his way through the ranks, although his duties mainly consist of site inspections, keeping morale high and asking when everyone is going home.
Roman already has strong opinions on how things should be done and isn't afraid to share them, so the future of Barlow Construction appears to be in safe (if slightly small) hands.

He is a fully qualified joiner and welding fabricator too, with a broad range of practical construction knowledge built up over his career, and he is always willing to get involved wherever he is needed.

More than forty years separate our most experienced builder and our newest qualified ones.
Tony Hughes mentors our younger team members on site, passing on the skills and traditional building techniques he has learned over his career. Brett and Charlie have both recently finished their apprenticeships and are now fully qualified builders, still learning alongside him every day.
It is how we keep the old methods alive on the older houses we work on, and how the next generation of North Yorkshire tradespeople comes through.
